In keeping with its mission to promote education and enhance civil and social responsibility, the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce held its annual Bursary Awards Brunch at Bridgewater Country Club on Sunday, August 7, 2016. The Chamber’s Bursary Committee reviewed 34 applications, and with additional financial contributions of $500 each from Aero-Safe Technologies, Barbara Scarlett Century 21 Today Realty, Circle P Paving, Dean Demizio State Farm Insurance, Destination Niagara Falls, Employment Professionals Canada, Meridian Credit Union, Miller’s Auto Recycling, Nigh’s Sweet Shop, and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 230 in Ridgeway, the Chamber was able to award a total of 16 bursaries this year. Special thanks to Chloe Demizio, a 2015 Bursary Alumni winner, who as guest speaker, shared her experiences and insights of university life over the past year.
The cost of the event is offset thanks to our generous table sponsors including District School Board of Niagara, Brock University, RBC Royal Bank (Fort Erie & Ridgeway Branches), Lakeshore Catholic High School, Circle P Paving, Benner Funeral Services, Niagara College, TD, and Meridian Credit Union (Fort Erie Branch). Thanks to all who participated!
A special bursary awards brunch was held on Sunday, August 10, 2015 at Bridgewater Country Club where 16 deserving students were awarded with $500 bursary cheques.
